Description
The Climate Leadership Conference hosts would like to invite you to join us for a side event following the closing plenary. Choose between (1) a happy hour and tour of the Alliance Center, or (2) a behind-the-scenes look at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). More information is available below. Space is limited; please register soon.
Option 1: Sustainability Happy Hour (2-4pm)
Join Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) and The Alliance Center (TAC) for a happy hour with casual and informed conversation, concluding with a tour our cutting-edge workspace that is a leader in green building innovation. We will be joined by speakers from the conference and local leaders in sustainability to provide a more intimate setting for an in-depth conversation. Refreshments will be served, including a hosted bar with beer from New Belgium and hors d'oeuvres.
The Alliance Center is a 10-minute walk from the Four Seasons Hotel. Located at: 1536 Wynkoop St.
All attendees must be over 21 to attend the Sustainability Happy Hour.
Option 2: Tour of NREL (1-5pm) REGISTRATION CLOSES FEBRUARY 21st
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory's work stimulates the U.S. economy, inspires ingenuity, and preserves our nation's energy security. Visitors to the main South Table Mountain campus will learn about renewable energy and energy efficiency research, visit the latest in high tech energy efficiency building technology and see how the NREL campus is demonstrating other clean energy technologies, as well as eliminating atmospheric pollution. Transportation will be provided and attendees may bring food and drink on the bus to NREL.
The CLC will coordinate a bus for attendees, as the facility is a 30-minute drive from the hotel. We will meet in the hotel lobby and depart at 1:00 pm. If you wish to drive yourself you may meet us at the NREL Education Center for the tour at 1:30 pm. Located at 15013 Denver West Parkway. Parking is limited.
All attendees must be over 18 to attend the NREL Tour. Each guest must have a valid government-issued photo I.D. (such as a driver’s license). If you are a U.S. citizen, this is all the identification required to gain access to NREL Facilities. There is no exception to this rule.
If you are a non-U.S. citizen (Canadian, permanent resident alien or resident aliens are included in this category), you will need to contact the NREL Visitors Program fifteen business days in advance to complete a foreign national data card.
Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes. Sandals, flip-flops, open toe shoes or sling back shoes are not allowed in NREL laboratories.Shorts are not allowed in NREL laboratories, remember to wear long pants. Water bottles or other liquids are not allowed in NREL laboratories.
